Magnetic MRO painted first ATR72 into a brand new SAS livery
Magnetic MRO, a provider of total technical care for aircraft operators and lessors, has painted first ATR72 into a new SAS livery at the Magnetic MRO dedicated paint hangar in Tallinn. Just a month ago, SAS had launched a brand new visual identity for the first time in 21 years and revealed a new design for its aircraft exterior. The new livery is a modern take on classic Scandinavian design and is created to highlight the future of SAS. Rihards Priedkalns, Magnetic MRO’s Aircraft Paintshop Manager, shared that the team feels honoured that they have been trusted to paint brand new SAS livery on the first ATR72. “To create this special livery, 15 professional painters worked 1200 hours and used 250 litres of different primers and paint. SAS logos and engines are painted in MICA effect colour, giving nice effect in the sun,” Priedkalns said.
