Magnetic MRO Expansion: New Maintenance Hangars to be Opened in Tallinn
Due to a further increase in demand, Magnetic Group's sub-brand, Magnetic MRO, announces the commencement of construction for maintenance hangars at Tallinn Airport. This serves as a stepping stone in Magnetic MRO's expansion strategy and commitment to serve the growing needs of the current and prospective client base.
Jan Kotka, COO of Magnetic Group, expressed his enthusiasm about the premise development project: "We are extremely pleased to share the long-awaited news about our two new hangars located in Tallinn. Since 2023, the number of commercial aircraft globally is growing rapidly. At present, there are about 30,000 commercial aircraft, and in the next ten years, this number will rise to about 36,000. Nearly 80 aircraft are brought here to Tallinn annually, and now we are reaching 100. However, industry-wise, a critical shortage of maintenance capacity remains. As for our clients, they welcomed the news of these newly-built hangars, as they were already fully booked even before construction began. This demonstrates our clients' trust in us and the strong demand for high-quality maintenance services."
These new developments take place on the southern side of the Tallinn Airport premises and occupy a total of 11,000 m². Magnetic MRO has signed a lease agreement for two of the three hangars. Also, one of the current hangars, which is fully equipped to provide painting services, will be exclusively used for painting works moving forward. Using it solely for painting services is a strategic move, enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring that our paint hangar continues to deliver top-quality services.
Construction of the new hangars will begin in the fall of 2024 and be completed by the end of 2025. The new premises will feature innovative, energy-efficient designs that surpass previous facilities. They will adhere to world-class standards, contributing to the development of the Tallinn Airport and the Tallinn Airport City business hub.
