This year, Maksim Novoshinski, Lead Technician at Magnetic Engines, is celebrating his 10-year anniversary, but he has been part of our story for even longer. Let's take a moment to read more about his journey, achievements, and insights into the aviation industry.

How did your path in aviation start?

Maksim: I started my path in aviation in 2007 when I first saw an advertisement in a newspaper. At that time, the company was called Air Maintenance Estonia, and they had launched a new program for training aircraft technicians. To be part of the program, we had to pass several tests in subjects like mathematics and physics. Luckily, I passed all of them, and in January 2008, I started working while also studying at Tartu Aviation Academy. In total, I have now worked for this company for 16 years.

What were your past roles at Magnetic Group? What is your current role?

Maksim: In short, started as a basic mechanic and eventually became a lead mechanic. In 2014, I left the company briefly, but in 2015, I returned for a newly developed position in the engine facility. After working as an A1 licensed technician in the line maintenance team for almost two years, I transitioned into my current role as an engine shop mechanic when the company received all necessary approvals and ratings for the engine shop.

How has the group evolved and changed during the years you have worked here?

Maksim: When I first joined, the company had only one hangar for line and base maintenance. However, in 2012, the company began expanding rapidly after the second hangar was built. Since then, Magnetic Group has continued to grow, diversify its services, and strengthen its presence in the aviation industry.

What's one thing you love about the company's culture that you think everyone should know?

Maksim: We are a multicultural company, which is the awesome thing about working here. The diversity in backgrounds and perspectives makes for a dynamic and engaging work environment.

Can you share some of the most exciting projects you have worked on?

Maksim: One of the most exciting projects I worked on was the SmartLynx teardown, where we had to cut off the nose landing gear to remove it. Another memorable experience was an Airbus A330 landing gear change; both projects were unique and challenging.

What would you name as your key achievement while working here?

Maksim: My key achievement is probably my commitment to continuous learning. No matter the challenges, I always strive to acquire new skills and never back down from an opportunity to grow.

What current industry trends do you notice in your line of work?

Maksim: It's hard to pinpoint just one trend because everything in the aviation industry is evolving so fast. From technological advancements to regulatory changes, the industry is in a constant state of development, making it an exciting field to be part of.
